Original artwork information by The Metropolitan Museum of Art website (© - The Metropolitan Museum of Art - Metropolitan Museum of Art)
This canvas is conceived as a meditation on Saint Francis of Assisi (1181/82–1226), who is shown in a grotto on Mount La Verna, where he received the stigmata (depicted as protruding nails, in conformity with early Franciscan sources). A key figure in the history of Italian painting, Barocci was close to the Capuchin order, and this deeply felt work must have been intended for a friar or a supporter of the Franciscan order. Barocci was a slow, meticulous painter. His work, with its compositional refinement, its warm humanity and deep expressivity, laid the groundwork for Baroque art.
Saint Francis was created by Federico Barocci in 1600. The original version of the piece of art has the following size: 35 3/8 x 30 7/8 in (89,9 x 78,4 cm); med tilføjede strimler 35 7/8 x 31 3/8 in (91,1 x 79,7 cm). Olie på lærred was used by the painter as the medium of the artwork.
- Akrylglasprintet (med ægte glasbelægning): The acrylic glass print, often referred to as a print on plexiglass, transforms your favorite original work of art into amazing wall decoration. Above all, it makes a viable alternative option to canvas and aluminidum dibond fine art replicas. Your favorite artwork will be printed with the help of state-of-the-art UV printing technology. With an acrylic glass fine art print contrasts as well as small color details become more exposed due to the very fine tonal gradation of the print.
- Aluminium dibond print: An Aluminium Dibond print is a print with an impressive effect of depth. The Direct Print on Aluminum Dibond is the perfect start to the sophisticated world of art reproductions made with aluminum. The colors are luminous in the highest definition, the details appear clear and crisp, and you can truly feel the matte appearance of the surface.
- Lærred: A canvas direct print is a printed cotton canvas mounted on a wood frame. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight. That means, it is quite simple to hang your Canvas print without the help of additional wall-mounts. A canvas print is suitable for all kinds of walls.
- Plakat print (lærredsmateriale): A poster is a printed flat canvas paper with a nice surface structure. The poster print is qualified for framing your art replica with the help of a special frame. Please note, that depending on the absolute size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin between 2-6cm around the print motif, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.

Vigtig information: We try everythig possible in order to describe the products as exact as possible and to exhibit them visually. Nevertheless, the pigments of the print materials and the printing can vary marginally from the image on the monitor. Depending on your screen settings and the quality of the surface, not all colors are printed 100% realistically. Because all our fine art prints are printed and processed manually, there might also be slight discrepancies in the motif's exact position and the size.
