Den originale version havde følgende størrelse 95,9 x 128 cm, 31,75 kg (37 3/4 x 50 3/8 in, 70 lb,) framed: 131,13 x 163,2 x 6,67 cm (51 5/8 x 64 1/4 x 2 5/8 in) and was painted with the techinque of oil on canvas. Peter Paul Rubens was a diplomat, painter from the Netherlands, whose art style can be attributed primarily to Baroque. The painter was born in the year 1577 in Siegen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany and deceased at the age of 63 i året 1640.
