This painting depicts an artist's studio, where are piled up in the disorder mirrors, musical instruments, woman bust, paintings, illustration board. According to the inscription, it is the studio of the painter Antoine Vollon (1833-1900), located at 25 Boulevard de Clichy.

Antoine Vollon exhibited at the Salon of 1870 a painting entitled "A corner of my studio" (No. 2920), 162 x 128 cm. He resides at 25, passing Saulnier in Paris. Between 1872 and 1887, his studio is located at 25 Boulevard de Clichy.
